MEP Jan Albrecht formally requests, in the name of the Greens/EFA, the Legal Affairs Committee coordinators to put a decision to obtain the opinion of the ECJ on ACTA on the agenda of the next Committee meeting.

The request based on Article 128 of the European Parliaments Rules of Procedures is the following:

Pursuant to Article 218(11) TFEU, the European Parliament submits the
request for the Opinion of the Court formulated as follows:

'Is the envisaged Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) compatible
with the provisions of the Treaty on European Union and Treaty on the
Functioning of the European Union?'

The European Parliament sends as annex to its request:

- final text of the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA)
as published by DG Trade of the European Commission at
